Why do I get an "Invalid License Code" error when entering my license key?
HyperRESEARCH and HyperTRANSCRIBE are available on our website for download. Until you enter a license key, the software has some restrictions. When you start up the HyperRESEARCH Free Limited Edition or the HyperTRANSCRIBE Demo, it asks you whether you want to enter a license key. Entering your purchased key fully enables the software, turning it into the full retail edition and removing the restrictions.
If you see an "Invalid License Key" error message when you enter your key:
Are you sure you're entering the correct key for the software you're using?
HyperRESEARCH and HyperTRANSCRIBE use similar keys. If you own both, double-check to be sure you are not entering one key in the other program.
HyperRESEARCH 3.x license keys begin with "R". HyperRESEARCH 4.x license keys begin with "HR."
HyperTRANSCRIBE1.x license keys begin with "T". HyperTRANSCRIBE 2.0 license keys begin with "HT".
Do you have the right version of HyperRESEARCH?
License keys for each major version of HyperRESEARCH (1.x, 2.x, 3.x, 4.x) are unique to that version of HyperRESEARCH.
- Keys for 2.x (from 2010 and earlier) consist of two groups of numbers and lowercase letters, separated by a hyphen, like this: a2b2-3c3d3e3
- Keys for 3.0.x and 3.5 (January 2011 - February 2018) consist of four groups of four numbers or uppercase letters, separated by hyphens, like this: RBCD-EFGK-H4JK-MN7P
- Keys for HyperRESEARCH 4.x and HyperTRANSCRIBE 2.x consist of four groups of four numbers or uppercase letters, separated by hyphens, just with the license keys for HR 3x and HT 2.0, but the first two letters of these license keys are "HR" for HyperREESARCH or "HT" for HyperTRANSCRIBE.
If you typed the key, did you make sure to distinguish between similar-looking letters and numbers?
In some fonts, 0 (zero) and O (capital letter O) can be hard to tell apart. 1 (number one), l (lowercase L), and I (capital letter I) can also look very similar.
Tip: If you're registered on our website, you can look up your license key by going to your profile (under the Community menu), then clicking the Licenses tab.
