This release note summarizes changes made to HyperRESEARCH between version 3.5 and 3.5.1 and 3.5.2.

3.5.2 Fixes and improvements:

  • An error triggered under certain circumstances when removing a source has been fixed.
  • An error triggered under certain circumstances when opening a Source fromteh Source List window has been fixed.
  • An error where a study could be modified and yet HyperRESEARCH would not indicate that changes had ben made and prompt for saving upon exit or swicthing to another study has been fixed.
  • An error opening or importing certain studies has been fixed
  • The Word Counter errors on word leangth and accented characters have been fixed.
  • An error installing when a desktop alias for HyperRESEARCH existed has been fixed.
  • Several other minor issue have been addressed.

3.5.2 Known Issues:

  • Incompatibility with Mountain Lion dictation feature: Attempting to use the Dictate feature of OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" may cause a crash. This issue is under active investigation. (There are no other known incompabilities with Mountain Lion, so using this version should work fine as long as you don't use Dictate while in HyperRESEARCH.)

3.5.1 Fixes and improvements:

  • A problem that caused the Frequency Report tool to occasionally report an error has been fixed.
  • An issue with Importing Studies containing Group names identical to Code names (or vice versa) has been addressed
  • Several minor cosmetic issues have been addressed.

3.5.1 Known Issues:

  • Word Counter doesn't exclude short words and accented characters:  In the Word Counter tool, the "Ignore words shorter than N characters" setting is not respected, and words shorter than the specified length are counted and displayed. Words in the "Words to Ignore" list that include accented characters are not excluded.
  • Incompatibility with Mountain Lion dictation feature:  Attempting to use the Dictate feature of OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" may cause a crash. This issue is under active investigation. (There are no other known incompabilities with Mountain Lion, so using this version should work fine as long as you don't use Dictate while in HyperRESEARCH.)
  • Installation error message when an alias is present:  Under OS X, if there is already an alias for HyperRESEARCH on the desktop, the Installer may display "Couldn't create shortcut (0)." at the end of installation. (This error message does not prevent HyperRESEARCH from being installed correctly.)

Compatibility with previous version:

  • HyperRESEARCH 3.5.2 is fully compatible with all files saved by version 3.5.
  • Compatibility of HyperRESEARCH with operating system versions is unchanged.
Upgrade status:
  • This version is a free upgrade for all users of version 3.0 or later.
