FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ResearchWare Releases HyperRESEARCH 2.6

BOSTON, Massachusetts - October 29, 2003
ResearchWare, Inc. today released HyperRESEARCH 2.6, a multi-platform software package for qualitative analysis research. The new version is the first release of HyperRESEARCH for Mac OS X and offers new features and performance enhancements for all Mac OS and Windows operating systems.

HyperRESEARCH is used by researchers in social science, psychology, usability, and corporate marketing to identify and analyze patterns and trends among qualitative data from a variety of media file types, including text, images, audio and video. Using intuitive tools like case cards, codes and annotations, HyperRESEARCH is popular for its ease of use. It remains one of the few qualitative research products actively developed for both Mac OS and Windows platforms. HyperRESEARCH study and source files are fully cross-platform so users can trade work regardless of which operating system they're using.

HyperRESEARCH 2.6 adds native support for Mac OS X to its list of supported platforms, which includes all versions of Windows from 95 through XP and Mac OS 8 or later. The new version also adds a convenient new option to instantly open the last file worked on, and enhanced performance for its Auto-Code and unique Hypothesis Tester features.

"Central to HyperRESEARCH's mission is that it runs on all major operating systems," said Scott Kinder, president of ResearchWare. "This free upgrade continues that tradition with OS X, allowing researchers to work easily regardless of which operating system they're using."

"HyperRESEARCH on OS X, Apple's Unix operating system, is easy and adaptable to serious research involving text, audio, pictures or video or any combination," said Patrick Maher of Edith Cowan University. "It is significantly more user friendly than its competitors and if you are doing academic research in the social sciences it has powerful tools to capture and make sense of your data and enable your project write-up."

HyperRESEARCH 2.6 is available for download at the publisher's Web site: <http://www.ResearchWare.com/hr/downloads.html>.

The freely downloadable version of HyperRESEARCH 2.6 has all features enabled with no time limits. Without a purchased registration code the only restrictions are limits on the number of codes and cases in the study, making the free version suitable for evaluation and teaching. A single-user license costs US$370, with discounts available for volume purchases. Registered users of HyperRESEARCH 2.0 or later can upgrade to version 2.6 for free. See the ResearchWare Web site at <http://www.researchware.com> for details.

HyperRESEARCH 2.6 requires Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP or Mac OS 8.0 or later, with a minimum of 64 MB total memory and 5 MB disk space.
