Did You Know? Backing Up and Securing Data

DID YOU KNOW?

You can protect your study data via options in the Preferences panel!

Automatically save your study at specified intervals while you work:

HyperRESEARCH Preferences (macOS) / Options (Windows) offers an "Automatically Save every X minutes" feature. This can help protect you from losing coding in the (rare) event that you encounter an error in HyperRESEARCH, or the power goes out, or some other unexpected interruption that results in recent work not being saved to the study file.

To access the feature, choose Options or Preferences, and click on the Program tab.

Click the "Automatically Save every X Minutes" checkbox to activate the feature.

The default value for the number of minutes between saves is 5, but we recommend you choose a longer time interval (15-30 minutes or more). You'll want to be sure that if something were to happen  that interrupts your work, your last automatic save was recent enough to not require you to spend hours re-coding.

Automatically back up your study file every time you save your study:

Auto-Backup (Studies tab) will automatically make a backup of your study every time you save your study file. Specify the number of saved versions you want to keep. You can recover your study from a backup through the same Studies tab.

Caution! Auto-Save and Auto-Backup work synergistically!

Every time HyperRESEARCH auto-saves your study, it will also create a backup. If you wish to use both features, we recommend you increase the time interval between auto-saves and also the number of backups you will keep.
